Delete Your Account

You can delete your Readout account and all data tied to it at any time, directly from inside the app. No email, no form, no waiting period.

How to delete

1. Open Readout on your phone.
2. Go to the Settings tab.
3. Scroll to the bottom of the page.
4. Tap the red Delete Account button.
5. Confirm in the dialog. The deletion happens immediately.

If the app won't open or you've lost access to your device, email [email protected] from any address and describe the device you used (platform and the rough date you installed the app). We'll locate the account and delete it for you within 30 days.

What gets deleted

When you confirm the deletion, the following is removed from our servers right away:

• Your user profile, device identifier, language, and timezone
• All your slots (topics and schedule times)
• All digests we've generated for you, and their sources
• Your notification settings and FCM push token
• Authentication tokens, so the device is signed out

What is kept, and for how long

To prevent abuse (for example, repeatedly reinstalling the app to claim a free tier bonus), we keep a small anonymous record of the deletion itself. It contains:

• A hashed device identifier
• Platform (iOS or Android)
• The number of slots the account had
• The date the account was created and the date it was deleted

This record cannot be used to identify you and is kept indefinitely as part of our audit log. We do not store your email, name, or any topic text in this record.

Subscription receipts are managed by Apple and Google. Deleting your Readout account does not cancel an active subscription — cancel it from the App Store or Google Play subscription settings before you delete, if you want to stop being charged.

Crash and error reports

Anonymous crash and error reports collected by Sentry are kept for up to 90 days for debugging. They do not contain your topic text, your name, or your digests.
